Stonegate Legal is a specialist law firm, providing a wide range of legal services for the individual. We are based in modern, accessible offices at Thorpe Park, Leeds and act for a wide range of high net worth and vulnerable clients.

We are members of the Public Guardian’s Professional Panel of Deputies which means we act for some of society’s most vulnerable people. We have a strong reputation for dealing with financial abuse, s.18 MCA applications and inter-jurisdictional issues (including adult abduction cases).

Private Client

Solicitor / Chartered Legal Executive

We are currently recruiting for a Private Client Solicitor to join our well established team.

The role will be wide ranging, supporting the work of the director in Power of Attorney, Wills, Probate and Trust matters.  It will require you to deal directly with clients, draft documents and progress court and benefit assessment processes including attendance at court and assessment meetings.

We are looking for

• Experience of dealing with Wills, Trusts and Probate
• Experience of contentious and / or non contentious private client matters.
• A pro-active, conscientious approach and the ability to work on your own initiative
• A team player with strong communication skills and professional telephone manner
• Excellent IT skills.
• Strong time management and the ability to work to deadlines
• Experience of working in a legal environment and client care procedures

Preferred but not essential

• An established network of professional and charity contacts
• Familiarity with Proclaim
• An awareness of investment products and financial management

Level 7 Graduate Solicitor Apprenticeship

We are excited to offer a new opportunity for a Level 7 Graduate Solicitor Apprenticeship starting on 31 March 2025. This is a fantastic chance for a motivated, ambitious law graduate to embark on a rewarding career as a solicitor, gaining valuable on-the-job experience while working towards a recognised legal qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with a variety of legal tasks across contentious and non-contentious practice areas in the Private Client and Court of Protection field, including research, drafting documents, and supporting senior solicitors.

Attend client meetings, providing professional advice under the supervision of senior members of the team.

Take responsibility for managing files and cases, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Undertake legal research and provide written reports and recommendations.

Work towards achieving the qualifications and competencies required to qualify as a solicitor.

Minimum Requirements:

Degree: A minimum 2.1 Law degree (or equivalent).

Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well within a team.

Experience: Prior legal work experience is an advantage but not essential. We value a proactive attitude and a desire to learn.
